Terms of Use

These Terms apply to all HotWord Puzzle apps, including HotWord and CrossWords.

Licence to use the apps

Subject to these Terms, HotWord Puzzle grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use HotWord and CrossWords on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code from the apps, except as permitted by law.
  • Interfere with, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the apps or their systems.
  • Use the apps to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
  • Misuse in-app rewards, subscriptions or purchase flows, including attempts to obtain paid features without payment.

Subscriptions and purchases

Some features are offered through optional subscriptions or one-off in-app purchases. Pricing, billing, renewal and refunds are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account subscription settings, and Restore Purchases is available inside each app.

Apple's Standard EULA

Unless a separate written agreement applies, your use of our apps is also covered by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"): apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Distribution and App Store services are governed by Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Intellectual property

HotWord, CrossWords, the flame logo and all associated content, artwork, code and gameplay are owned by HotWord Puzzle and protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

Limitation of liability

The apps are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HotWord Puzzle disclaims all implied warranties and shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the apps. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws or the Standard EULA.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the apps or applicable law. The current version is always available at this URL.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
